Fang Chengfeng is a full professor in the Department of History at the School of Humanities, Tsinghua University. He received his Ph.D. in History from the Department of History, Peking University. His research centers on political, institutional and intellectual history of the Song Dynasty (960-1276).

He is the author of two books: The Political Structure and Political Culture in Late Northern Song, 1085-1125(2015; revised edition, 2023) and Monarchy, the Learning of the Way, and the Song Dynasty (2024).
