·Academic Committee

As the policy-making body of the Department of History, the Academic Committee is to discuss and decide important matters regarding the development of scholarship, teaching and research, personnel, relationship and communication with foreign universities and research institutes, as well as administration. It is also to guide and supervise the administrative leaders of the Department.

·Teaching and Research Group of Ancient history of China

The group is to organize and coordinate teaching and training in the area of ancient Chinese history studies. Head: Prof. Peng Lin

·Teaching and Research Group of Modern history of China

The group is to organize and coordinate teaching and training in the area of modern Chinese history studies. Head: Prof. Cai Lesu

·Teaching and Research Group of World History

The group is to organize and coordinate teaching and training in the area of world history studies. Head: Prof. Liu Beicheng

·Teaching and Research Group of Intellectual and Cultural History

The Group is to organize and coordinate teaching and training in the area of liberal education courses. Head: Prof. Liao Mingchu

 

 

Institute of Humanities

The Institute of Humanities was established in 1985, with two research groups: one of intellectual history of China and one of intellectual history of the West. Profs. Zhang Dainian, Qian Xun and Li Xueqin served as its first, second and third director successively. Many famous historians have worked in this Institute, including Profs. He Zhaowu, Liu Guisheng and others.

The major role of the institute is to organize and coordinate works of its affiliated institutions.

Current Director of the Institute is Prof. Li Bozhong. Deputy Directors are Profs. Cai Lesu, Zhang Guogang and Dong Shiwei
